Well guys, I once again begin this blog with "I know it's been a while". But I have good reasons... 1) I got married!!!!

2) I moved to the Nashville area

and finally

3) I GOT MARRIED!!! (to my best friend- It doesn't get much better than that)

Anyway, I will probably be linking this blog to a new blog, since the name has changed and all. There is so many beautiful things around here though, so I hope to get some good photo shoots going soon (I think I missed a lot of the really pretty fall trees though). Anyway, once I get the new blog up and running there will be a link posted on this page- and maybe a few wedding pictures. My friend Sarah took pictures for us and she is amazing, so I'm really excited to see them.

I've also been following a couple of people's blogs and they have inspired me to do a better job on my blog, so I'm thinking about trying a little harder on the new blog.... but we shall see. lol.. Life does get a little crazy sometimes, and you never really know what's gonna happen.

What a beautiful family!

I discovered (thanks to my dad) a beautiful garden called "Will Rogers Garden" in Oklahoma City. If you live near by you definitely need to check it out. It is AMAZING!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!! I also discovered (thanks to Steph) a beautiful family. I had the opportunity to do a photo session with them a couple of weeks ago, and it was so much fun!

Their oldest daughter had so much spunk and personality I was going to do a special photo shoot of her in a sunflower field. I had been wanting to do this shoot, but just hadn't found the right person. Unfortunately, the morning I went out to the sunflower field before the shoot all the sunflowers had died. It was very sad, but maybe I'll get a chance to do it next year. As always... here ya' go:

The picture above is one of my favorites. There are a few others with the leaf and I really love all of them... in fact I may make a separate post just for them! So if I do, sorry about being redundant.

(after looking at these I bet you have no idea why I wanted to do a session with her in a sunflower field. lol... she is soooooo cute!)

My goodness it has been crazy busy around here. I've been working A LOT and doing photo sessions quite consistently. I feel a bit like every day is deja vu... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, ha ha.... Definitely a good thing as far as the photography goes. I'm super excited about all the work I've had lately. So a great big thank you to all of you who have invested in my photography....

This was from a photo session with a family here in Oklahoma. Amber (the mom) was awesome. She was great and has a naturally artistic eye. She had the idea to do these pictures in the field by her house, and if you've looked at this blog much at all you know how I feel about photos in fields... I LOVE THEM! Anyway here ya' go:

This is from the photo session with Steph and her two girls.. We got an awesome opportunity to go out to the farm her grandpa used to own to take some of the photos, so it was really cool, and nostalgic.

You can't get much cuter than that!

I have to admit, I was a little distracted by all the farm animals... I just wanted to play with the puppies and calf. ha ha...

Ok, guys, I know it seem like I am really bad at this whole blogging thin. I do realize that I'm not an award winning blogger or anything, but I swear it isn't really my fault. It is very inconvenient not having internet access at one's house. Anyway, needless-to-say, I finally have photos ready to go and let you guys out there see, barring any unforeseen uploading problems.

The following photos are from my first real session since I've been in Oklahoma. I was so excited to be able to do a session. Particularly because I was going through extreme withdrawals from not having any sessions to do. The photos are of the Ohl family. They are an adorable family with an ridiculously cute little girl.

I haven't had much going on up to this point to really update the blog lately. But I am finally getting out of my lazy slump and starting some new projects... and I really think it is good for my piece of mind. First of all I'm making a really cool storage chest from an old antique trunk. (I will be posting pictures of this soon.) The final product will be for sale, although, I have a feeling that I'm going to want to keep it. I am also doing some research for a new painting.

I was going to upload some photos, but for some reason I'm having some issues with uploading today. So, new pictures to come later.

Since I have recently moved, and not many people know me, I have not had any photo shoots recently... and I'm kinda going through withdrawals. So as I was sitting at the table eating dinner with my dad and grandparents I was inspired to take pictures of my grandpa who had been outside working. Here is the outcome.

this is a halter that has the family brand on it.

I have to say I am quite fond of the above... and below pictures... I really missed being around horses when I lived in Plainview.

Fourth of July Window Painting

Before we get to the fourth of July paintings, I realized I haven't posted the last mural I did in Petersburg at the First Baptist Church parsonage.

Well, I've been trying to get the word out that I have moved so I can get some more business. I have done fourth of July window paintings for 3 businesses in Piedmont, and hopefully will have a couple more.

I have discovered that there is not a whole lot of variety of iconic images for the Fourth of July so it makes me feel a little bit uncreative, but it is good to have a challenge... I guess... LOL... Anyway here is what I've done so far...

Well there has been A LOT going on lately. First of all I just moved to Oklahoma (OKC area). So now I've got to start gathering some work here. I also don't have internet where I am living so I am not doing quite as good at keeping everything updated, but I'm doing my best.

FOURTH OF JULY: Window painting for OKC, Piedmont, Youkon area. Usually runs around $25-$150.

PHOTO SHOOT SPECIAL: $60 for 20 poses. $60 includes everything. Must call by July 1st, Limited availability.... Phone number (806)685-1856.

New requirements for photo sessions: Due to a recent incident you will now have to put $25 down to schedule a photo session. This goes toward the final payment, but it helps me to ensure that I don't spend countless time and expensive gas driving around to find the perfect spots for your shoot and then you not show up. Sorry, but I learned my lesson on this (twice actually).

Not only are they fun... but beautiful too... (even in front of bathrooms) ha ha

We found a horned toad... not only are then endangered, but this particular one was missing a back leg and only had one toe on one of its front legs....

I had the opportunity to photograph my amazing friend Lucy. Lucy is an amazing girl who I love hanging out with, unfortunately our paths have been leading us far from one another. However, for a short time we lived near each other again, so I got to do a shoot with her... I will post a few more, but here's a little taste.

This first photo was so cute. I asked Lucy to back up, neither of us realizing that there was a bit of a drop off behind her... this was the outcome.

It is pretty exciting, because this is my senior show (yeah, that's right, I'm graduating, FINALLY!!!!) There are going to be several other really great artists there as well. So, I'm realizing that I'm not very good about keeping up with this blog... For one, I'm not good at taking pics of my paintings. But here are a few that I've done recently. I'm really excited about my painting right now, I've been getting a lot of cool stuff out... Anyway here you go.

It's hard to believe that my show is only a day away. It's crazy to think that a little whim that I had early this summer turned into a full-blown art show. It seems like everything has just fallen into place.... with a lot of work of course, but it just felt right. I am really, completely, and thoroughly excited about it. I of course have those moments when I worry that people won't show up or that pictures will fall and the glass in the frames shatter or something like that, but really, I think it is going to be great. I am really stoked to get my work out and let people see it. Oh my gosh, it is so surreal.... I am really amazed.

Well it is now 10 days until my show at Cap Rock Winery. I'm getting really excited and really nervous. I'm ready to see all my hard work come together... and hopefully pay off. It has been a little hectic around here since school started. I've been working on homework and trying to get my show together along with all the day to day things, but I have, for the most part, maintained a sane schedule.

I'm currently taking a break from matting photos. I've got most of the pieces for the show done... there is one more drawing I would like to put in the show, but there is still a lot to do to it so I may not get it done in time.

I guess that's it for now... I probably have a billion other things I should be doing right now... and don't forget SEP. 19TH @ CAP ROCK WINERY from 6-9 PM... LIVE MUSIC, WINE, AND OF COURSE ART!!!! See ya there!

The fire has been started, and gasoline has been added... and it is getting HOT!!! There is so much to do for the show, but it is nevertheless coming along.... like a snow ball rolling down a mountain... hmmm.... an avalanche, yeah that is it... the avalanche is at full speed... Interesting I went from heat to cold, but whatever.

Well I know I need to get some more posts put up, but I don't have the internet at my house... so this post is just to say that hopefully I will have the internet again and then you will have some new art to look at.
As far as my show goes, I've been working really hard. I have one month left until the show so things are going to be pretty crazy until then. There is a lot to do, but in an exciting way.

UPCOMING ART SHOW AT CAP*ROCK WINERY!!!

Well, it is official. I have an art show set for September 19th from 6-9 pm at Cap*Rock Winery in Lubbock, Tx. I am so incredibly excited!!! Right now I'm working on a few new paintings and drawings and editing some photos. There is a lot to do, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Fun at Caprock Canyon

It has been crazy lately... which is why I haven't posted any new stuff in quite some time. However, I am getting back in the groove of things, so here are some pictures that I took today. These are two very cute kids (they belong to friends... no worries, I wasn't following around unknown children) at Caprock Canyon.

If you haven't noticed these kids are very inquisitive... which makes for some fun pictures.

Sunday was a beautiful day. So it was great that Tara and I chose to take her senior pictures Sunday. We had a lot of fun and had an excuse to be braver than normal and explore some places a little more closely. We had a blast during the shoot. Here's a little sample just for you:

Western Mural

Here's a few photos of two western murals I painted for my grandparents. My grandpa is a builder so it was a bit nerve wrecking to paint on the walls of a show home. I kept feeling like at any time my grandparents would come in and be like, "what are you doing!!!???" I felt like a little kid coloring on the wall with crayon. But the courage paid off.

My grandma knew she wanted a cowboy painted on one wall, so that was not problem. The horse mural was quite a process though! For one thing the place she chose was in at a slight corner so we had to be aware of placement. Also they said they wanted something like a country scene or one of their horses, but they weren't sure. We spent quite a while looking through magazines trying to get some ideas. We finally decided on something and I created the design. This is the finished product.
